WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

ACOLYTES:  An acolyte helps the rector perform various tasks in the worship service. These tasks including lighting candles, leading processions and recessions, and helping with Holy Communion. Open to Middle and High school ages.

ALTAR GUILD:  The Altar Guild is open to any adult to glorify God through preparing the altar for any service held in the church. The Guild is also responsible for securing the necessary articles to be used at any service.

ARCHIVES:  Archives consist of records that have been selected for permanent or long-term preservation on grounds of their enduring cultural, historical, Spiritual or evidentiary value. This is where our history is kept.

BRASS POLISHING GUILD:  Polish Brass in the church, this includes torches, crosses, font cap, and more.

CHILDREN'S CHOIR:  The Children's Choir is a graded choral program open to the public and sings a variety of genres of music in worship services at various times throughout the year.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY:  For children Elementary aged. Meets Sundays at 9 am for Sunday School and 10:10 am for Children’s Chapel. VBS and Special events throughout the year!

CHOIR: The Prince George choir sings during the 11AM Sunday service and at various special services throughout the year. Choir performs a wide variety of repertoire in many different musical styles and is accompanied by organ or sometimes piano. Choir practices on Wednesday nights from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM.

CHURCH DOCENTS:  Due to precautions to deal with the spread of the coronavirus, church tours have been cancelled until further notice.

DIOCESAN CHURCH WOMEN:  Diocesan Church Women have regular Bible Studies throughout the year and put on the Plantation Tours in the Spring.

FELLOWSHIP TEAM:  The Fellowship Teams help organize, set up for, and clean up after
parish fellowship events which take place 6 to 8 times a year. This is a great place to get to know folks, the work is easy, fun, and important to the life of the parish. With enough people your team will likely only serve once per year.

FLOWER GUILD:  The Flower Guild creates the altar flower arrangement for Sunday services. They also provide arrangements for special events the church holds.

FUNERAL GUILD:  The Funeral Guild provides a reception to funerals buried in our churchyard. They make finger foods and punch, set up the room and stay for the duration of the reception.

GREETERS:  Greeters are available at the front doors of the church to greet Sunday churchgoers. They will be able to answer questions visitors have and help direct people around our campus.

HAMMERHEADS:  A men’s ministry, this group of men have work days around our campus to repair and paint. They also build handicap ramps to needy homes in Georgetown.

HOME EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS:  A Lay Eucharistic Minister is specially trained to take the consecrated Sacrament to members of the congregation who, by reason of illness or infirmity, were unable to be present at the Celebration.

LAYREADERS:  Layreaders participate in the church services usually once per month. This includes reading the scripture or prayers designated for that service and serving as chalice bearer during communion.

LENTEN DINNERS:  Each Wednesday during Lent at 6 pm, our church meets for a covered-dish supper. Following each meal, are Lenten programs for adults, youth and children.

LINEN GUILD:  This guild cares for the linens used during worship services. Members wash and iron the linens. All work is done at home and then returned to the church.

MEN'S BIBLE STUDY:  Our weekly Men's Bible Study meets in the Parish Hall on Tuesday's at 7am.Contact the Church Office - 843.546.4358

MEN'S BOOK CLUB:  Our weekly Men's Book Club meets at Thomas Café on Front Street every Wednesday at 7am.

PARISH PICNIC:  Held every year, at the end of the school year, allowing the parish to gather for good fellowship and relaxation.

PASTORAL CARE:  Pastoral care volunteers provide spiritual support to parishoners not able to attend church regularly through visitation, delivering meals, prayer, active listening and encouragement.

PRAYER WARRIORS:  Prayer requests for parishoners, friends, and family will be e-mailed to the prayer warriors who will pray for specific needs. Volunteers keep prayer requests confidential.

ST. ANNE'S GUILD:  St. Anne’s is a group of women who gather monthly for a short program, business meeting (where they pray for parishoners, family, and friends, collect an offering for donation to worthy causes), and end with fellowship and snacks. It is open to all women of the parish and their guests.

USHERS:  Ushers pass out bulletins and lead people to seats for all church services. Usually performed by men and has a one-month commitment on Sundays. Ushers are also needed for specials services throughout the year; holy week, Christmas, and funerals.

WEDDING GUILD:  A person from the wedding guild assists at the rehearsal and wedding to set up and help the wedding party with timing as well as with church procedures.

WORSHIP TEAM:  The Worship Team is a contemporary ensemble made up of vocalists and instrumentalists (piano, synthesizer, guitar, bass guitar, violin, trumpet, drums, etc.) who lead our Sunday 9AM Worship through the use of Re-Tuned/Modern Hymns and Contemporary Christian Music.  Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesday from 7:30-9:00PM.

YOUTH GROUP:  The youth group is for students aged 11 through 18 and has several events throughout the week as well as special trips during the year.
